COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Syllabus
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to give students an understanding of the Office package.
Some work will be done in Access, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint as well as
integration capabilities. A basic understanding of scanners and digital cameras
will be introduced.

EXPECTATIONS
Student:
~Respect with students, technology, and teacher.
~Be prepared for class. You will need a folder, pen, pencil, and planner.
~Treat others as you wish to be treated.
~Follow the district's Acceptable Use Policy.
~Use the recycle cans when throwing away paper.
~Keep
book bags under the tables and out of the walking area.
~Push chairs in at the end of the class.
~Keep the work area around your computer tidy.
~Place books back where they belong.
Teacher:
~Respect with students, technology.
~Provide an atmosphere where students can succeed.
~Be prepared for class with active learning.
ATTENDANCE
~When returning to class, check with the instructor to receive assignment(s)
for day(s) missed.
~Students that are in class the days prior to a test will be required to take
the test. If you miss the day before a test and we did not cover any new
material, you will be required to take the test.
TARDY
~Students must be in the classroom when the tardy bell rings. If you are
with another teacher, please have a pass from the teacher you were with.
COMPUTER RULES
~There will be no food, candy, or drink in the classroom. Please respect the
equipment.
~Do not download any programs, games, etc. from the Internet.
~No outside disks will be allowed in the classroom.
CHEATING
~Severity of punishment determined by teacher and administrator.
EVALUATION
~All assignments will be given a due date. If an assignment has not been
turned in after being graded, the student will be given an extended due date.
Not turning the assignment in by the extended due date results in a zero for
that assignment. The District grading scale is used.
