Newsletter
Must be a complete page in length (front and back).

Some School Topics:

• Plays

• Athletics

• Fine arts

• Board meetings

• School organizations (FFA, NHS, Student Council)

• Student Clubs (Biology, Spanish, etc.)

• Homecoming

changes from last year:

• new courses

• new teachers

• Student population (new students)

• new additions (classrooms and gym)

Requirements:

1. Each article will include a picture of actual event (no clipart or web image) with appropriate caption

2. You will write the stories about your topics.  Stories are written with correct formatting, grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.

3. Each story must contain at least 3 paragraphs (intro, body, and conclusion).

4. Font size cannot be larger than 12 pt for body of newsletter.

5. Story headings cannot be larger than 16 pt.

6. They will be school appropriate, done with taste, and creative.

Formatting concepts:

• Indents vs. Double spacing

• Justify vs. Left align

• Include your name with masthead (Editor?)

• Each article (must have 2) will have person who wrote it

• Date: appropriate timing for your content

• Include web source with content/caption

• Watch hyphens

• Image quality

• May have to type text of an image

• Fonts: be consistant

Include the following in your masthead:  use one of your existing layouts

1. Graphic or image or shapes

2. Title

3. Volume 1     Issue 1

4. Date

5. Your name

DESIGN PROCESS:  Answer the following questions about your newsletter.

• What is the purpose?

• Who is the audience?

• What data must I gather? How?

• How do I want this printed?  Front and back, in color

• Is my layout consistent, simple and eye-catching?

• Has the newsletter been proofread and edited by a peer? Who?
